Your Stay
The wedding events will take place in a private Renaissance estate that we’ve booked out for our many festivities. A complimentary suite is reserved for every guest at one of two villas next door to one another for the four nights of our wedding celebration. We ask that you plan to stay at the villas for all four nights of the wedding so that we can all be together.
The villas operate on a full buy-out basis only. If you are choosing to extend your stay in Italy before/after our days together, you are welcome to do so, but you will need to find other accommodation.
The villas
In the rolling nature of the Tuscan countryside, just 20 minutes from the center of Florence, sits Dimora Ghirlandaio, nestled on the historic Chianti Colle Ramole. Inside the Renaissance hamlet, five villas reside on the grounds, including traditional Italian gardens, a pool, a spa, a private restaurant, and a magnificent olive grove that gives light to the extremely pure PGI extra virgin olive oil.
Since the 15th century, the villa has been the favorite residence of the "Ghirlandaio" painters. Such preference went from Domenico Ghirlandaio, one of the artists preferred by Michelangelo's patron, Lorenzo the Magnificent, to Domenico’s son, Ridolfo Ghirlandaio, a friend and inspiration to the painter Raffael. Summed up in the immortal words of Giorgio Vasari, “You should never turn down an invitation to the family home in Colle Ramole.”
Just next door to Dimora, Villa Bernie is located atop the same hill of the ancient Certosa abbey. The villa was built in the 17th century and was bought by the Berni family in the beginning of the 1900’s as a summer holiday home in the Florentine countryside. The villa has been lovingly and elegantly restored and houses three floors with 5 total bedrooms including a bedroom in the villa tower. From the two windows of the tower bedroom there is an amazing view of the duomo of Florence.
For those staying at Villa Berni, all meals, events and festivities will take place on the other side of the fence at Dimora. We ask you to please join us starting each day for breakfast and all activities throughout the day. It is a short 1-2 min walk over to the main gate.

Common Travel itineraries
There are numerous ways to get to Tuscany, and no two parties will be coming from the same place in the United States. Review the details below to decide which methods of transport work best for you.
Fly into Rome
Flying into Rome is a good option for anyone who wants to fly with major airlines and avoid connections. It is the largest, major airport near to our venue with non-stop flights. Most flights range from $750 to $1200 dollars. The airport is about 30 minutes away from Rome's city center and train station.
Train to Villa from Rome
Directly outside the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, is the Fiumicino Aeroporto Train Station. Take the 30 minute train to the Roma Termini Train Station in the city center. This train is run by Trentalia. Tickets cost approximately €15 euros ($18 dollars) each way and should be purchased in advance online.
From the Roma Termini Train Station, it is a 1 hour and 30 minute train ride to the Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Trains to Florence are run by Trentalia or Italo Treno. Tickets cost approximately €30 euros ($35 dollars) each way and should be purchased in advance online.
Once you arrive at the Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station, hail one of the cabs which are lined up outside. It is a 15 minute cab ride ride to the villa and costs approximately €40 euros ($48 dollars).
Drive to Villa From Rome
To drive from Rome to the villa, you will need to either rent a car from the airport or arrange a private car transfer. Car rentals are available at the airport with rates that vary but generally run around €75 euros ($90 dollars) per day. DayTrip is a private car transfer that can be booked ahead of time and allows you to plan stops at popular attractions along the way of your route. A one-way, private transfer from Rome to Florence will run around €500 euros ($575 dollars). It takes approximately 3 hours to drive from the Rome airport (FCO) to Villa Dimora Ghirlandaio.
